Egan080's Review and Opinion: Although some people think that writing and singing parodies of well-known songs is easy, or that in order to be funny a parody has to be rude, crude and socially unacceptable, neither assertion is necessarily true.
On the other hand, if you look at the enduring popularity of wisenheimer/musician Weird Al Yankovich, what you'll discover (if you haven't already) is that he is able to match well-known melodies such as - in this case - Don McLean's 1970s classic "American Pie" to a humorous (if acidly accurate) summary of 1999's Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

I'm a Star Wars buff, a parody buff, and I love McLean's song, so I'm very biased towards liking this one! Great performance musically and comedically |

A funny but accurate summary of a movie in a song? Yes! Listen to this one, you must! |

Musically this is a perfect carbon copy of "American Pie," but the way it's done is original.... |

Oh, my, my this here Anakin guy May be Vader someday later But now he's just a small fry And he left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye Sayin' "Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi... Soon I'm gonna be a Jedi."
