A 1967 song written and originally sung by Cat Stevens. It has been covered by P.P. Arnold, Keith Hampshire, Rod Stewart, Norma Frazer,Linda Ronstadt,James Morrison and many more. I really like this song because of the message of the lyrics. One can really relate to it.
Sheryl Crow's cover is part of the two singles that was used to promote her compilation album The Very Best Of Sheryl Crow. The song reached number 14 in the US,number 13 in UK and number 31 in Austria.
The single was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards.
